LIBERTY WINGS

A simple game about freedom, with cool airships, dictators and... a cute goth girl!

This game was made with RPG MAKER 95 for the RM95 GAME JAM hosted by r/rpgmaker. 

In a not-too-distant future, humanity is divided into numerous small flying "island-states".

After a great war for political control known as "The Nights of Lead," a fearsome Dictator has succeeded in putting numerous of these island-states in check and converting them into colonies held together by a government called 'the Company.'

The Company is a government that makes brainwashing and sham 'meritocracy' its strong points.

"The Company rewards those who work hard."

"The Company punishes slackers and traitors without mercy."

"Revolutionaries are scum, abnormal, perverse people without a shred of education and dignity, to be eliminated on sight."

The player controls... A simple worker, with no name, no background and nothing of significance. An ordinary person.

For all his life, this boy has known only work and duty. Indoctrinated by the Company, the young man lives (and works) in the engine room of a huge government Transport flying ship.

His duties are simple, keep the huge ship's engines running, keep the environment clean and tidy and be happy!

The boy, despite being a model worker has... Some abnormal thoughts.

He imagines a life outside the ship, but at the same time he is afraid of it. He believes that outside the cold metal walls of the ship there is only absolute blackness. But at the same time. He is attracted to it.

One day, during one of his endless days of slavery work, the boy receives an emergency alert. Revolutionaries are attacking the ship. This is nothing new; it has happened before.... But this time it's different.

For the first time in his life, the boy will be able to see what lies behind the iron walls of the ship...

This game was made in RPG MAKER 95, a very old game engine that Windows 10 just doesn't support (without software compatibility, atleast...)

For a better experience, set the compatibility to WINDOWS XP.

If you experience any graphical issues and/or similar, try to delete the ddraw.dll file inside the gamedisk directory!

This game was very fun to make, even if in a limited engine like RPG MAKER 95.

- Fixed a Critical bug where InstantPalChange does display the entire game in black and white after the game over screen against the soldiers airships. It should be fine now.
